This table sculpture from the artist’s Meander Series features a kiln-formed glass top set on a contemporary black iron base. The flowing composition evokes the peaceful feeling of being near water.
The artist creates the glass by firing small pieces of transparent and opaque glass to approximately 1500°F, allowing them to melt and flow into a single, solid form. The front and sides are polished to a high gloss, creating a window into the depth and intricate detail within the ¾"-thick glass.
The glass panel rests securely within a recessed channel in the iron base, creating a clean, integrated profile.
